The Willowell Boogie Benefit is BACK!! After a five year hiatus, we’re excited to announce the return of this fun, family-friendly, community event.
On Saturday, March 30th, the Willowell Foundation will host our benefit dance and silent auction at the Burnham Hall in Lincoln from 6-9:30PM. Join us for live music by The Almendros, a cash bar, and a silent auction packed with exciting items from local businesses and artists. The Almendros are a rock band with ska, punk and reggae influences. This nine piece band includes our very own Addison Tate (one of Willowell’s teachers) on saxophone; Doug Wilhelm on percussion and harmonica; Naunau Belu on vocals, percussion, guitar, & keyboards; and many other talented musicians.
The Almendros are a multinational Addison County band whose danceable repertoire
ranges from roots rock and funk through reggae, calypso and West African styles. Many
of the group’s songs are originals. Among the artists whose songs the band covers are Nathaniel Ratecliff, Lucinda Williams,Orchestra Baobab, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Liz Phair and the Beatles.
All funds raised will support Willowell’s scholarship fund for youth programming for programs such as Pond Brook Middle School, New Roots, Wren’s Nest, and Summer Camps. Come out and celebrate our mission of cultivating healthy communities by connecting people to the arts, education, the environment, and each other.
All are welcome to this fun-filled, family friendly evening in support of nature-based programming in Addison County.
Tickets are $10 at the door. Children 12 years of age and under are free!
